🩺 Aged Care Ready is a comprehensive orientation programme designed to support internationally qualified nurses (IQNs) in confidently transitioning into aged residential care roles at Summerset Group. This course equips nurses with the knowledge, cultural understanding, and professional expectations required to deliver high-quality, culturally responsive care in the New Zealand context.

Direction and Delegation 
 Learn how to appropriately delegate tasks, supervise healthcare assistants, and maintain safe and legal nursing practice under NCNZ guidelines.

Ngā Paerewa – Setting the Standard 
 Gain an in-depth understanding of New Zealand's Health and Disability Services Standards (NZS 8134:2021), and your role in meeting audit and quality requirements.

Nursing Documentation Requirements in Aged Residential Care 
 Master the essentials of professional, accurate, and legally compliant documentation, including interRAI assessments, progress notes, and care planning.

ARC Overview 
 Explore the structure, funding, and purpose of Aged Residential Care in NZ, including the different levels of care and the resident journey.

Cultural Safety – An Overview 
 Understand the principles of cultural safety, including power dynamics, bias awareness, and how to create inclusive care environments.

Cultural Considerations 
 Deepen your understanding of Māori and Pacific health perspectives, and how to provide person-centred, culturally aligned care.

It Starts with Assessment 
 Learn the assessment processes used in ARC, including the interRAI framework and holistic approaches to identifying residents’ needs.

Changes in Levels of Care 
 Identify when a resident's condition requires reassessment and how to escalate appropriately to ensure care remains aligned and funded.
